If you're planning to build a new house or development why not take the opportunity to build a basement. Anyone who has lived with a basement will agree they are a real bonus. A basement provides the additional space most home owners crave without increasing the foot print of the building. Whether it is for storage, a games room, office, or simply room to grow your new basement will add real flexibility and value to your property. LOGIX ICFs have been used successfully to build thousands of basements and retain walls around the world. |

Awkard or Sloping Site? |

Are you planning a build on slope, or and near trees? Structural warranty providers are very cautions when it comes to building on sloping sites or near trees. As a result foundations can often end up far deeper than you had allowed for, blowing budget. If you're going to dig foundations 2m or more why not build a basement as your foundations, providing extra space at minimal extra cost |

Logix™ Basements Reduce CO2 |
If you compare 2 houses of the same living area, same heating systems etc, one built on 2 floors, and the other built over 3 floors including a basement, the house with basement will typically produce 15% less CO2! A Logix wall which above ground has a U value of 0.23w/m2k, has a U value of 0.16 w/m2k when used in a basement! |

Waterproofing your Basement |
Basements built using LOGIX ICFs can be water proofed in three ways; internally, externally and integrally, (i.e. make the structure itself waterproof). All three methods work, if done correctly, and waterproofing your basement is a job you only want to do once. |
Which method is right for you will depend on a number of factors, including soil conditions, the level of the water table, and site access, and we'll be happy to guide you through the choices. Logix work with a number of specialist basement and waterproofing contractors who understand how to do the job right first time, and will guarantee their work. |
What makes LOGIX ideal for basements? |
Nearly all basements are built from reinforced concrete, either poured in between two block work walls, or into specialist formwork. Swapping traditional heavy formwork for LOGIX insulated concrete forms has a number of benefits.
- The LOGIX forms are lighter and easier to work with, speeding up the build process and saving you money.
- The webs inside LOGIX forms are designed to hold reinforcement without the need to tie the bars together, allowing the vertical bars to be placed after the wall is built. This is safer and faster than traditional methods.
- The insulation is already built in, saving time and money.
- Logix walls can be built 3m high before filling, saving time and pump costs.
- Logix forms are designed to withstand poker vibration of the concrete, crucial for achieving the design strength of the concrete.
